From the Prez,
Where to start? We’ve been
out riding and representing
the Chicago Chapter all over
the state. We’ve been to the
State Party, Fulton County
Rodeo, Helmet Roast, Barrio
Riders Party, The LSD Ride,
The Teamster Horsemens labor
day toy drive and a S#!tload
of party’s. Even as I write
this we are getting ready to
go down to Chiggerfest and
then on Sunday we’ll be back
just in time for the Fugarwe
Tribe’s annual pigroast. A
special thank you to the
Fulton County Chapter for a
great time and man can them
guy’s eat. I think between
the partying and drinking we
all had to put on a few
pounds, (BTW, we were only
drinking water) if you can
believe that. I won’t even
try to tell you all about
Danny & “Train Wreck” we ran
into but you can see some of
the pics on the Chicago
Abate Yahoo Groups. I will
tell you this, Danny
“Scraps” Paoletti is not an
ink virgin anymore and Road
dog filmed it all yes that’s
right his new name is
“Scraps” for some not so
obvious reasons, ask him and
maybe he’ll tell ya how he
got the name. Someone down
there turned up the heat and
forgot to turn it off.
We want to thank Korg for
the ride he took us on, if
anyone ever tells you he’s
going out of Illinois to
ride some great roads tell
him he’s never ridden the
backroads of Illinois. I was
thinking of not going on the
ride with Korg and just
blowing it off and staying
in a nice air conditioned
room. At the last minute I
decided to go and am I glad
I did. Not only did we go
thru some of the nicest
country I’ve ever seen but
our VP started a new program
for A.B.A.T.E. it’s called
“Stop A Cop” I’ll let him
explain that one
J Korg also had a
free lunch set up for us and
it was almost as good as the
ride. HEY FULTON COUNTY……THANKS.
The Helmet Roast kicked ass
as well and the girls from
Polekatz were exceptional, I
rode down with Road Dog and
Bubba (Taz’s old man) met us
down there. I had a chance
to talk a little with Mike
Panzer (SWS Prez) and Rick
Mitchell (Westgate Prez) and
met a few other chapter
Presidents who’s names
escape me right now. We were
met at the gate with a hardy
“HOLY F#@K it’s the CHICAGO
CHAPTER and there south of I
80” , I guess they didn’t
think we knew there were
roads down that way. Thanks
for the warm welcome guy’s I
always love a good
ballbusting. Thank you to
all the members that helped
out on the LSD Run Larry
Hahn is always a big help
and George “Odd Job” Gora
for getting it all together
for us. We had about 100
riders and a good for a
ride, and thanks also to Doc
Bob for setting us up with
the roach coach for the
day.
Now, what are we doing up
here??? Well the TV SHOW
will air it’s first episode
of the quarter on October 2nd
2007 at 8:00pm on channel 21
(HOTLINE 21) Don’t miss it.
The Chapter was contacted by
97.1 The Drive WDRV
regarding their charity ride
in October and we contacted
A.B.A.T.E. of Indiana
because it’s going to be an
event in Indiana “DUH” We
are working with the City of
Chicago to reduce the size
of the motorcycle city
sticker and we had a good
meeting with them in August.
While there, it was also
brought to their attention
that you cannot renew your
motorcycle sticker online.
They said that by the 2008
cycle both of these things
should be rectified, they
have been very motorcycle
friendly lately and
hopefully this will work out
also. We need to thank the
city of Chicago Department of
Revenue’s Matt Darst and Ed
Walsh for all the help they
gave in regards to the new
Motorcycle and Scooter
Parking brochure we created
together. You can find a
link to it on the front page
of the website
www.chicagoabate.com .
Which brings me to the
website, a BIG THANK YOU to
Kevin for getting it up and
running and all the updates
he’s done’ Also all the new
items he’s got going on
there. If you have not been
on it lately, give it
another look. Thank you to Evi also for letting us
borrow him when we need him.
One last thing, check out
the Breakfast with Da Boy’s
Ride on the website, it’s on
the 16th of
September and we will be
meeting at the Teamster
Horsemen’s Clubhouse at
9:00am and pulling out at
10:00am SHARP…Don’t forget
to catch us on CANTV on
Tuesday’s @ 8:00pm, that’s
all for now……
See ya in the wind
