From the Prez,
Before I
start the article the Chicago
Chapter would like to extend
it’s condolences to the family
of a longtime member of the
Chicago Chapter Kevin & Evie
Curth and family. Kevin lost his
Dad this weekend, Olga and I
went on Sunday to the wake and
so did a lot of others from
A.B.A.T.E. & Toy’s for Tot’s our
prayers go out to you Kevin and
Evie.
The Chili
party is behind us and it’s
freezing outside, as usual a
great time was had by all. We
filled all 3 rooms with hungry
folks looking to try some of the
best chili made by our members.
I want to start out by thanking
our judges Hotdog, Dozer, Big
Tommy and the rest at one point
looked like they might need some
help in the bathroom area but
they tuffed it out and no one
died. I did see a couple of them
break a sweat more than once and
I don’t want to even think about
the morning after. The band for
the night was…..Kathy Fern
and THE SECOND HAND SOUL BAND
who rocked the house for the
whole night. They had everyone
dancing if that’s what you can
call some of what I seen ;) also
I watch as people sang along
with the band. Kathy came off
the stage with a mic and did a
great job getting the audience
to participate and sing along
with her. I got this question
from a lot of members “Why
didn’t we get this band to play
our parties sooner” even Amish
was moving to the music and I
think he still is. If you were
there and want to contact them
you can do so by hitting their
website
www.secondhandsoulband.com
. Now to the Board Members,
THANK YOU for all the
help during the party and
afterwards. You guy’s and gal’s
made the whole organization look
good. To our volunteers for the
night, Nick Maros and his girl
Cynthia, Little Pat, Sean,
Little Mikey, Guy and Anne
Thank you for all the help
during the set up. Thank you for
all the help with the raffles
and especially the clean up,
even Joe Mama was part of the
clean up crew. Congrats to all
the winners of the Chili
Contest, Tattoo Contest,
Jalapeno Contest, Raffles and a
special thank you to 2 G’s for
helping pack the room. And last
but not least, THANK YOU to all
the Clubs and Riders that came
out in droves to support the
Chapter in
raising money to fight for the
rights of all motorcyclists. Our
next stop is the R&B SuperCycle
Show now moved to Schaumberg on
