Where to start, since we last left you we have been all over the state and been to many parties & fundraisers.  We also went to celebrate L.A.M.A. V.P., Vikingo’s 50th B-Day down at the L.A.M.A. clubhouse.  Yes, he’s 50 now and don’t look a day over 60.

The food looked great, and his lady put on a spread that was out standing.  The bad thing was, I promised to be at Teamster Horsemen’s that night also, to eat at their EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT $2.00 all you can eat pasta night.  So, off we went (Olga and me) to see if Hector really could cook as good as he professed….DAMN it was good.  I think that night he did about 20 pounds of pasta….YES I SAID 20 Lbs of pasta, but the best was the gravy he made.  He used neck bones, spareribs and ground beef.  I showed them that I was no stranger when it came to eating neck bones, yep when I was done all you could see was bone.  Kim (Harley Charlie’s wife & my cousin) got an education in the art of eating neck bones, too.

We also had our 10th annual LSD ride and again we were back at Joe’s on Weed St.  They were great hosts as usual and if you’re looking to spend some of that hard earned cash I suggest you pay them a visit.

We should always support the businesses that support us.  Now Hog’s & Honey’s should probably change their name to Honeys & Money’s.…WHY???? We tried for over a month to contact them to try our event with them and they seem only to be interested in our money and not our bikes or have anything to do with us outside of us coming down to drop $$$$.

A special thank you needs to go out to George “Odd Job” Gora for putting this ride together and has been doing it since day 1.  Thanks for all you do “Odd Job”.

The TV Show started on the last Tuesday in September this time and we will have an extra show this quarter.  I have Doc Mark scheduled to be our first guest and his run is the very next weekend.

In this edition of the newsletter you are going to read an article regarding “Motorcycle’s Seized.”  Before you go grab the pitch forks and torches, we were on top of it.  In speaking with the State Police we found that:

1)     YES, it was a motorcycle ONLY stop.  Just like the “Click it or Ticket” stops they have for cars.

2)     They were looking for proper license classifications, “L or M.”

Remember, if you don’t have the proper classification, YOU SHOULD NOT BE RIDING A MOTORCYCLE.  A.B.A.T.E. does not condone illegal actions PERIOD!

3)     They were checking for insurance.  And YES, you NEED to be insured.

4)       If you did not have the right class license your bike was towed, unless someone there (properly licensed of course) could take your bike right home for ya.

If you had any of the lesser violations you were merely ticketed and sent on your way.  Before you ask, they also conduct these traffic safety stops for cars only, trucks only and other vehicle specific stops.  So to sum it up, YES, they were singling out motorcycles, this time.  Next time it will be cars, and then it will be only trucks.  So what ever you drive, always be prepared.

I hope I didn’t leave anything out and THANK YOU Juanita for waiting for the article until I got an answer, you’re so crazy. ;)  Elections are coming up so if you want to step up, let us know.
